Phil Simmons, the head coach of Bangladesh, has left the team's tour of Sri Lanka to consult with doctors in London. His departure occurred on Friday amid speculations regarding a potential performance review.
Contrary to rumors that Aminul Islam, the BCB president, had summoned Simmons for a performance evaluation, the coach's trip was scheduled in advance for a medical appointment.
Simmons is expected to rejoin the team in Sri Lanka on July 7, making him available for the third ODI match. Following the ODI series, Bangladesh is slated to compete in three T20Is.
The Bangladesh team, after a strong performance in the drawn first Test, struggled to maintain momentum, losing the second Test and consequently the series. A dramatic collapse led to their defeat in the first ODI of the three-match series.
