Actress Esha Gupta has finally addressed the swirling rumors surrounding her alleged relationship with Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya. In a recent interview, Gupta clarified the nature of their connection, revealing that while they did communicate for a brief period, it never evolved into a serious romance.
Gupta explained that their interaction lasted only a few months, citing compatibility issues and timing as the primary reasons for their brief association ending before it could truly begin. She emphasized that they were merely in the "maybe it will happen, maybe it won't" stage.
"Yeah, for some time we were talking. I don't think we were dating, but yeah, we were talking for a couple of months," Gupta stated, setting the record straight. She further elaborated on the limited extent of their meetings, revealing, "We met once or twice, that's it. So yeah, as I said, it was a couple of months and then it ended."
The actress acknowledged the potential for a relationship, but admitted that circumstances led to a swift conclusion. "Maybe it could have happened," she said, adding that "things fizzled out quickly."
Gupta also emphasized that the end of their communication was amicable, devoid of any complications or drama. "There was no drama or bitterness," she stated firmly. "It just wasn't meant to be."
Addressing Pandya's controversial appearance on Koffee With Karan in 2019, Gupta confirmed that their communication had already ceased before the incident. "That part didn't affect me, because we had already stopped talking by then," she explained.
The actress further revealed her decision to refrain from adding to the criticism surrounding Pandya at the time. "They were already going through enough. What good would it do if I jumped in with more criticism?" she reasoned.
Currently, Hardik Pandya is not participating in the Indian cricket team's Test tour of England. His next expected appearance for the Indian team is against Bangladesh in August.
