Elon Musk's X, formerly known as Twitter, has taken decisive action against accounts violating its platform policies in India. A staggering 500,000 accounts have been banned for various infractions, highlighting the platform's commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant environment.

Reuters reports that between January 26 and February 25, a total of 506,173 accounts were banned for promoting child sexual exploitation and non-consensual nudity. Additionally, 1,982 accounts faced suspension for promoting terrorism.

In total, X suspended 508,155 accounts in India during this period. The platform also addressed 14,421 complaints received from Indian users through its grievance redressal mechanisms, and 41 requests regarding account suspensions.

The company stated, "We overturned 1 of these account suspensions after reviewing the specifics of the situation. The remaining reported accounts remain suspended. We received 71 requests related to general questions about accounts during this reporting period."

This isn't an isolated incident. From December 26 to January 25, X banned approximately 231,215 accounts in India, with 1,945 of those accounts suspended for promoting terrorism.
